We’ve been living in Los Angeles for exactly 16 days and the difference I’ve seen in my energy, productivity and happiness is OFF the charts.
Want to know one of the biggest changes that’s happened as a result of this move?
I’m working out like a Mo Fo.
Every day it’s something else – dance, yoga, spin, hiking, biking, or TRX. I’ve never felt better! As a former Nike Elite Dance Athlete and fitness pro, I know the huge impact working out has on your life.
But I also know that when you’re busy building a business . . . and raising a family, caring for others, etc., it can seem impossible to find the time.
With all the other things to focus on each day, it’s easy to put yourself last. But here’s the thing. You can’t do that if you’re serious about winning the game in business and life.
Now before you start saying; “But Marie, I’m too busy – I don’t have time to work out!” watch today’s video.
I share important research on exercise and your brain, and my 10 minute strategy to cure the “no time” excuse.

Okay, it’s Q & A Tuesday. It’s a really Jersey Q & A Tuesday! Look at the hoops, look
at the hair and look at the dress. Rarr! Sorry, I got the giggles.
Tiffany writes: Q: “Hi Marie! I love, love, love Q & A Tuesdays.” We love you, Tiffany. “I’m a wife, a full-time mom of one and a half year old, and an entrepreneur running a small social media company. I’ve always struggled with prioritizing exercise and now that finances are tight, I feel like I need to spend any time that I’m not with my daughter bringing in income. The hour that I spend exercising makes me feel guilty, as if I should have spent that hour making money. I know I’m not the only one who feels financial pressure so my question is: How do you make time for exercise when you feel so much pressure in other areas?”
A: Awesome question Tiffany! Here’s a thing Tiff, you are your most valuable business asset and you need to keep that business asset in tip-top shape if you want to bring home the tofu fakin’ bacon for you and your family. Science has proven that we operate more effectively when we exercise. In fact, a smarty pants author, John Ratey from Harvard Medical School says, “Exercise is really for the brain, not for the body. It affects mood, vitality, alertness and feelings of well-being.” And get this Tiffany, if you’re anything like me or the millions of other entrepreneurs in the world, one of the biggest things you struggle with is focus. That is right, I said focus. Focus, focus, focus!
Dr. Ratey says this, “Exercise is like taking a little Prozac or a little ritalin at just a right moment”. John Mayer says your body is a wonderland? Oh-oh girl, I see your body is a sweet little pharmacy just waiting to give you your focus fix any time of the day. Focus! So start considering exercise time as an essential business task that you simply cannot skip. It’s as important as answering your e-mails or invoicing your clients.
And get this, exercising for a straight hour is not always possible. Sometimes you got to break it down and do little chunks so just imagine this for a moment alright. Instea of like 10 or 20 minutes, tooling around a Facebook or Twitter which I know you will do, what about just putting on music and dance hard core for like 10 minutes straight. Tell me about that, will that be a good time? Yes it will. Shaking your money-maker is a great way to build exercise into your day and of course rev up your money-making.
If you don’t feel like dancing, you can walk or your jog or you can do some crazy
boot camp style workout for 10 minutes straight. I get some of my best ideas when I do this
for 10 minutes straight... Or if you want to get your “boogie” body on, try this simple exercise that I found on Youtube for free. (We are here to let you know..)
Think about it this way girl, if you take 6-10 minute exercise breaks throughout the day, you are going to have exercised for a whole hour. Now, I know that might not be as intense as doing it 1-hour straight but it’s going to really add up and it’s going to keep that sweet little pharmacy open all day long.
One final idea, many moms have written in to say that my exercise dvds to work out at home with their kids specifically with their daughters. That’s just one more tip to help you build it into your day.
Tiffany, that was my A to your Q. Thank you so much for asking. So, now I want to hear some comments, I want to hear some responses. How do you fit in exercise to your business busy schedule? Do you notice that you make more money? And that your business is more successful when you are working out consistently? What I really love is a video response, right? A video response.
