Insight Without Action is Worthless.

When I discovered MarieTV, I binge watched every single episode! I'd always wanted to break through to the next level which, for me, was making six figures from my voice over business. Marie has been a huge influence on how I've grown my business, and I'm thrilled to say that 2015 will be my third year in a row of six figure income. Every year my business is growing by leaps and bounds!

Before MarieTV, I was a legal secretary for 30 years and never heard of Marie Forleo. I then lost my job at a firm I was at for 8 years (was fired for taking time off when my daughter had a serious operation). I could not find work again as a legal secretary, even though I was never not employed as a legal secretary in 30 years. I was 56, bills had to get paid. I opened my own business, MBZ Interiors, Inc. I seriously do not recall how I found MarieTV but I did and it was such a breakthrough for me! Someone knew I was out here on my own in my own business and that I needed encouragement and it was OK and I could do it. I often think about what Marie would do in situations and I love to run to the computer to MarieTV when I am feeling down. In such a short time working in my own business and using Marie Forleo as a mentor, I cannot believe the impact she has had on me.

In my early Marie days, I was a freelance marketing consultant who was tour guiding on the side. I wanted to do guiding full time, but I was hesitant. Marie's episode "Get a BJ" (bridge job) landed in perfect timing, and I took a part time gig as a marketing coordinator for a university. That job lead to a full time position for 18 months. The income was great, and I was able to squirrel away the funds so that when the moment came when I was sick and tired of the daily grind, I made the leap. (Also inspired by a few Marie episodes along the way.) This year, since March, I've been guiding 100%. I'm now reinventing my portfolio lifestyle to have exactly what I want -- more guiding, with a little marketing on the side. The best thing about MarieTV is that it always seems to be a morsel of miracle knowledge that I need at that time. I love Tuesdays because of MarieTV!!!

Spent whole life as a public employee - safe, secure jobs where change and openness to new ideas didn't happen easily. I was a big idea, "can't we do this differently?" kind of person. Being an entrepreneur makes my heart soar! I find myself taking risks, selling myself and my ideas fit me! I'm excited. The dark side? I'm old, fearful, a procrastinator and I can be negative and critical. Marie is just what I need! You present as the exact opposite of these traits. You give me courage. You make me understand these roadblocks aren't unique to old me, they're universal, and there's hope. You offer simple solutions. I internalize them.

You've help me create an image of myself as a business woman, not just someone doing a little part-time hobby, and there's a path I'm on. Ok, I'm walking slowly on the path, I'm not where I want to be, but I'm not getting off the path, I'm just going to work harder at focusing on my destination. You give me this confidence from all the amazing people you feature, as well as the everyday people you respond to. The weekly episodes are timed so perfectly so that I get that regular dose, the shot in the arm I need to keep moving forward and not to give up.

Even though I may not be fully employed and raking in the big bucks, Marie has helped me realize the importance of putting in effort each day. Sure, occasionally, we deserve a day off. But in general, make an effort to make each day better than before. I actively keep myself from laziness and Marie helps keep me from sliding into a slump. Her wise words and rocking wardrobe inspire me to be the best person I can - with or without full time work.

Before discovering Marie, I felt like a very small fish swimming upstream in the largest, most dangerous water in the world. I had just graduated from college, was working 2 part time jobs, moved twice, didn't know how to afford rent, and was just generally unhappy with my life and the direction it was going. I landed my dream job at the age of 22 but I immediately thought that I couldn't go any further or do any better. I was prepared to become another cog in the machine and remain content in my position, but no longer have that fire driving me. And that's when a coworker recommended Marie to me on my first day of work. I immediately began binge watching and reading as much content as I could, as most people do when discovering Marie. Now, I'm helping to make huge change in the office and get to be involved in very large decisions that could completely change the culture of the company, a task I never thought would be presented to me for at least another 10 years. I'm dreaming bigger and broader than I even realized was possible. I'm finally happy and eager to continue growing for the rest of my life. I've received praise and thanks from my coworkers and boss, and I know there's only more great things to come. I can't wait to welcome all of those opportunities and experiences with open arms, thanks to Marie.

I discovered MarieTV at a time when I needed intense inspiration. I was drowning at a 9-to-5 that I could FEEL stealing my soul day by day, and I had no idea how to escape or build something that would save me. I used to pull up MarieTV episodes via the blog and hide the browser window behind my spreadsheets and listen to Marie preach amazing-ness through my headphones. It took a good number of months (probably almost a full year) but I finally got the guts to quit my job + pursue another, more flexible job opportunity which then led to me starting my own business. I'm not entirely sure I would have had the guts to pursue this path had I not been so fired up by Marie's advice and the stories + other people I found through her. I'm not even sure it would have occurred to me that I could MAKE my own path, vs. just "finding another job." It sounds dramatic, but it's not an overstatement to say Marie helped save my soul. I recommend Marie to everyone I know who expresses even a modicum of unhappiness / discontent / malcontent / or mentions some unsatisfactory THING in their lives. Her fire on the channel mixed with the humor mixed with the amazing stories of women and men doing really awesome things is an inspiration, even for people like me who don't necessarily want to "change the world" but simply want to have control over our own world. Marie proves over and over again that basically anything is possible - anything is "figure-out-able" as she says! I use this as a regular mantra + even that simple thing helps keep me moving forward and helps prevent stagnant life.

I have had a lot of trouble in my life with social anxiety for as long as I can remember. My anxiety led to having focusing problems in school, sleeping problems and I always thought something was seriously wrong with me. It breaks my heart that I never got any help then, I went through my whole childhood without someone seeing me and my desperate need for help. All of this led to a lot of troubles with alcohol and negative self talk in my teenage years and early adult life. But about three years ago I had enough! So I decided to change my life. Moved away from my hometown to study. And then the new me, or the real me, started to grow and I became a strong independent young lady! I started watching your videos on YouTube about 2 to 3 years ago when I was trying to find videos about self development, and just seeing your positive energy makes me feel stronger and I can say for sure that all your videos helped me in some way. It is much thanks to you that I am the person that I am today. Today I am happy and proud of who I am thanks to all hard work. And my biggest dream is to help people in some way, I have a huge interest in natural healing such as meditation, yoga, healthy lifestyle and massage therapy.

I can say that before I had no courage to do anything on my own. But now I travel to different countries on my own. I have learned that I can do anything I set my mind to. Three years ago I could not speak English, I actually failed my English class in school. But now I write and speak fluently! And I just moved to America to live with my best friend and love of my life. I learned to stay focused and motivated on my goals thanks to your videos. You have inspired me to do something good with my life, like helping other people, and to make a career out of it!

As someone who has struggled for YEARS with how to actually know how to move forward and then do it, one thing Marie said ... well, actually her mom said, changed my life. I tell people about it all the time and that is: EVERYTHING IS FIGUREOUTABLE. I think it's easy for those of us who come from modest background or have generational histories of social trauma and disenfranchisement to be bogged down by the weight of despair. As the daughter of my once impoverished African American dad, I definitely inherited the hopelessness that comes from a legacy of being beaten down, having rights removed, fighting and then having one's land, home, family wrenched away no matter what you do. So, in tiny ways, that mentality would defeat my efforts. I'd start something, come upon an obstacle and grow sad, not realizing that I *could* figure it out, that I DO have the resources to make something happen. Marie - you taught me this!

I was born in poverty, and for much of my adult life, I continued to live in poverty. I was frequently bullied as one of the only poor kids in an upper-middle-class town, and my teenage years were as miserable as my childhood. I finally "got out" by moving across the country for college. Shortly after I graduated, the economy tanked. Like many millennials, I made $10-12/hr occasionally (whenever there were any temporary, part-time jobs available). I struggled to pay my student loans and had to go on Income-Based Repayment. I attempted to go to graduate school a couple of times in a more marketable field, but kept getting discouraged by the length of time it would require and dropped out. I gained over 40 pounds and looked terrible -- I didn't take care of myself and just didn't think there was anything I could do about it. In my darkest days, I would obsess over my former classmates' success (while at the same time hating them for being more privileged than me, chalking everything up to my poor upbringing).

I did volunteer for random groups in an attempt to make myself feel better, but that would only give me a temporary high -- as soon as it was over, I would return to my run-down apartment and remember how bad my life was. I did attempt to apply to higher-paying jobs, but nothing ever panned out. Some employers actually scolded my unsteady and unimpressive work history to my face; others told me that I was shady for job-hopping. When I posted on an unemployment message board, people immediately jumped on me, called me a liar/bum/idiot and expressed disbelief that I was unable to find work (given where I had gone to school). I began to think of myself as a shady, worthless person as well. When I found Marie's video randomly on YouTube one day, I couldn't believe how gently and yet poignantly she helped those who were very lost. This was not something I'd ever seen before, in real life or on the web.

Her no-excuses attitude and building a life step-by-step strategies have helped me get off my a** and start doing the little things that led to the big things. I turned those part-time, temporary jobs into real references (using Marie's advice of asking for testimonials). I volunteered in a very targeted manner (in the industry I wanted to work in), not just for random organizations like I did in the past. I listened to Marie's advice on not having the "scarcity mindset" and forced myself to be generous, despite being worried about my income. I produced samples of my work in my own time, even when my actual jobs didn't create them, as Marie suggested in her videos. Within a few years, I had turned those low-paying jobs into $20/hr jobs. Soon, the $20/hr jobs became $25/hr jobs. One day, an opportunity to take a small, part-time position for $38/hr came up. I immediately jumped on the opportunity, used the higher wage as leverage at my next job, and then broke into the low six figures by the time I turned 30. Without Marie's extreme honesty about the LENGTH of time and the million pieces it takes to build something whole, I would have just continued staying in poverty, felt that having money was for those lucky people who could just get everything at once, and gave up. Although I am not an entrepreneur, Marie's advice applies to EVERYTHING in life. No one (other than the very fortunate/blessed) just wakes up just wakes up and gets everything all at once. I was so entranced by her story -- her willingness to work all sorts of low-standing jobs in order to build something great someday. And, whenever I wanted to give up because something bad happened or things didn't work out, I would just tune in to another episode of MarieTV and feel the courage to try again. Advice from her video has helped me face down many of my life's harshest problems, from learning to forgive to pulling myself up from poverty to not being angry at skeptics. She truly is a life coach. I am *not* an aspiring life/health coach, entrepreneur, SAHM, or charismatic blogger -- basically, I am not the typical consumer of Marie's products. I am just a normal person who grew up in poverty and continued to live in poverty until a few years ago. Because of her unique blend of practical advice and inspiration, I was finally able to break my family's cycle of poverty.

Before discovering Marie, I felt alone and overwhelmed. I started a business in French (English is my 1st language). I had no contacts, no clients, no support group. Each episode encouraged me to continue. There was one episode on "Everything Is Figureoutable." Each time I am about to give up, the weekly episodes lift me up. I thrive when I have a mentor. In my current city, I have no mentors, no family, no elders ... and I'm really just lost floating out at sea. The MarieTV episodes give form, logic and encouragement to what otherwise would be pure chaos.

I am a tenured psychology professor at an Ivy League school – so it's easy for me to be a bit skeptical about "life coaches." I am coming out of the closet to say thank you for your weekly videos. They are always informative, inspiring and funny! You know the "pain point" of many of us who are trying to get the word out about something that they are so inspired to bring to the world – yet, are struggling to make it happen. With humor and clarity you are able to illuminate these bumps in the road – in bite-size digestible pieces – in your weekly videos. I never feel hard-sold on anything. I get your positive intention to bring your gifts to the world and help others to do the same. Thanks for your generosity. My message to students is "follow your bliss" – and you are one of the examples I use to demonstrate how to work hard and have fun!!

What I enjoy about MarieTV is that you address issues pertaining both to business development and the inner game we all have to deal with if we are to live positively oriented lives. In my life it's helped me deal with stumbling blocks in developing my business model. You've made me realize, with respect to my business goals, that one brick at a time is how a house gets built. Just keep laying them down, it will happen. There is real value in MarieTV, and it's free. That in itself makes it an asset and a tool, easily accessible.

In the summer of 2014 I was burnt out in a 25+year career in the fashion industry. I love working hard but for the first time in my life didn't know what kind of work I wanted to do. I'm not a big self-help person and I prefer a more DIY approach with a little (personal) tough love thrown in. I started to take my mid-life crisis into my own hands and do what any GenXer would do, I Googled career advice. I signed up for MarieTV and her weekly email and over the next year found the courage to leave my job and start my own business. MarieTV is like having a wonderful friend who lights up an unfamiliar path with inspiration and humor that gives us the courage to start walking it. Marie takes the 'hard' of building a business and makes it feel more like creative play. We're very grateful.

I have undergone tremendous changes and trials through my life for several recent years without my own will. Experiencing a series of frustrations, I held grudges and thirsted for revenge without any future. However, after coming across MarieTV, I came to reflect on my life and began to look at my life from a different perspective. I realized that my remaining future is more important and precious than any other past. Marie video teaching gave me encouragement and inspiration for the preparations of my future. Since then, I made it a rule to watch her video every week to learn wisdom from it. At the beginning, it was not easy for me to understand MarieTV fully because English is not my mother tongue. After 3 years running my NGO, I was about to close it. It was when I came across Marie Forleo's work. What did I do when I saw there were so many free videos at MarieTV? Netflix was forgotten for weeks and I took the MarieTV marathon: I spent weeks watching and studying every single episode. I knew I couldn't quit, I would also find a way to make money and change the world.

Marie you have helped me in so many ways. I have so many goals and sometimes balancing my job, my personal life and projects can get overwhelming. Marie and her team are inspirational, and so relatable. I feel like I have a "BFF On Demand". Not only is Marie great, but her team *always* gets back to me on an email or a comment on her blog. Who does that this day in age? It's phenomenal that the Marie team has the capabilities to run a tech/virtual/online biz with a very personal touch.

Making decisions is a difficult step to take on. Maybe for some people they find it easy, but it's definitely not for me. I had a limitless amount of pressure at work. One day, after coming home from work, I remember it was at 9:00 PM on a Tuesday. I literally typed in "how to make decisions" on YouTube - and little did I know, I was about to subscribe at one of my favorite YouTube channels ever – MarieTV pops up. I watched the video of making decisions on MarieTV (and other videos of course until, surprisingly, 2 AM) and started applying them the second I woke up on the next day. My life has never been better because from there on I believe that decision making will be eventually decided by me and not anyone else. From now on, the question of "How if you fail?" will always be answered by saying "But how if I fly?" - I believe in myself more and positive vibe is definitely my new middle name. And yes Marie, thank you for being there for me!

While hospitalized during my life threatening journey with cancer, I found MarieTV in 2013. Week after week, Marie put a smile on my face when it was very hard to find one and although her positive inspiration was directed to her audience of entrepreneurs, her message resonated directly with me ... 1) Find a life that you love and 2) the world needs that special gift that only you have to offer. It was hard to believe I was in exactly the place I really needed to be ... heck I was near death ... why should I be there and come on, did I have a gift to offer? Life has changed because every Tuesday I get the most heart-felt email from my homegirl, Marie, who keeps me going as I embark on entrepreneurship. I came across Marie while searching YouTube for good branding examples, and I found Marie's episode on Poo-Pourri. I was rolling on the floor with laughter literally two seconds into it. At that time I didn't even know Poo-Pourri existed, so I assumed it was an invention of this hilarious new comedian woman. I signed up for her newsletter on the spot, expecting more funny videos. But the first email came and I soon realized my mistake. "Huh", I thought, "another self-proclaimed life coach with their cheap Psychology. I should unsubscribe right now". But for some reason I didn't. I watched that week's video and, a little bit ashamed of myself, actually liked it. So I opened the next one. And the next. Before I knew it, I was sharing them left and right. I especially enjoy the interviews. Truly inspiring. Thanks Marie & Team.

Because I have Aspergers, I find things 'out of my comfort zone' quite difficult to deal with. Watching all the episodes of MarieTV truly has helped me to 'calm down' more than I would normally be. I feel I am blossoming in my business despite my 'differentablity' (not disability). I can thank MarieTV for a big part of that.

Honestly, I was pretty far on my entrepreneurial journey when directed to Marie. What I've found is that her email that pings in my inbox every week is a needed dose of inspiration. You see, as a social entrepreneur with a globally distributed team working on really hard global development challenges, I run into a lot of big obstacles. I've been running my business for the last five years and it now supports me and my husband. Together, we create books and online classes. I go for a walk and listen to MarieTV to keep me focused each week. It's my weekly check in so that I don't get overwhelmed or feel isolated in pursuing my dreams. Each episode makes me laugh and gives so much positivity and hope. There's always a bit of advice that I can apply to my business or personal routine. It's part of my balance. For me, it's all been in the consistency. Having MarieTV to watch each week is like a little cheering section, helping me move forward week by week with new ideas. With each new idea, my business and life balance improve so that I see massive changes and growth each year.

Flying Kites is a school for some of East Africa's most vulnerable and orphaned children. Sharing MarieTV has helped empower our high-school-aged girls (and boys!) to think about personal and professional development.

Marie is that mentor we've been wishing for who spoke our language, understands our struggles and gives sound advice that we can apply without even knowing us in person! The biggest change would have been our self-confidence. We are more assured of ourselves and the decisions that we make, regardless of them being well planned or acted on impulse, we know we will make things work. Marie has definitely reminded us time and again that we are bound to make mistakes and to achieve great things all at same time. The change was deep within ourselves and, in return, changed our lives and business for the better.

I relate to Marie tremendously and identify with many of the struggles she talks about on MarieTV. It's scary to put yourself out there, but when you have big dreams it's very helpful and reassuring to have someone like Marie who's making it happen to reinforce your inner aspirations. Watching (and cracking up at) Marie has helped me to re-center on my goals time and time again, and to keep on keeping on! Her balanced approach is important, too. I've ditched the guilty feeling of having time for myself to reenergize, exercise, etc. so I can be at my best. She's like the super confident sister I always wanted (I'm an only child). ;) Insecurity, self-defeat and comparison are such common dream-killers in our culture, especially for women. I consider Marie my biggest influence for finding and continuing to cultivate my strength, passion and skills in life and business. I came across you, just when I was looking for a way out of this negative thinking cycle which I naturally inherited from my elders. Knowing that you exist, reading your emails, following you in social media is giving me such an inspiration that i cannot put into words.

Marie's videos provided me a sense of comfort, confidence and hope I could not find elsewhere. And I knew, that she meant it all. Every word, every thought was sincere and honest. When I first found Marie online, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I was the heaviest I'd ever been, failing to get my business off the ground in a way that made me feel proud to call it mine, and had just had my heart broken by my childhood sweetheart and partner of eight years. I immediately enrolled in B-School and binge-watched past episodes of MarieTV. I made Marie a part of my mornings, revisiting key lessons and episodes as a way to help me break through the obstacles and make it through the day. In short, Marie helped restore my confidence in myself in a way that no one else had been able to do. As a result, my business began to boom, I became clearer on my vision and path, and most importantly -- I finally started taking action, true and meaningful steps to creating a "business and life that I love!"

You could call me a late starter, a late bloomer ... In fact many people my age are starting to retire. At 63 years old I am starting a new life. For 30 years I worked in the corporate world in sales, as a marketing professional and consultant and then another 15 years running my own business in fashion. From the outside looking in, you would think I was tremendously successful. I was never without work, I was consistently recognized and promoted, I progressed up the ladder, stood out, made good money, impressed my superiors. All good but something was missing and I didn't know this until much later. It never occurred to me to consider: Did I truly love my work? Was my work an expression of my values and purpose? What was my purpose anyway? I never even thought about that. It wasn't until 13 years into my fashion business, I started to feel like something was wrong. Couldn't put my finger on it but I had this uneasy feeling that something had to change. Then 2008 came down on us, my business took a huge hit and it was just what I needed to affect my bank account and re-evaluate my life! So where does Marie Forleo come into all this? Well, over the last 6 years I have poured myself into personal development, reading, studying, attending workshops, seminars, taking online courses. I have literally spent thousands of dollars on my personal education. Marie was a complete fluke but an incredibly lucky one for me. I found her one evening as I was browsing the sites of other health coaches.

Here were my first impressions: she was authentic, real, funny, smart, savvy, seemed to truly care and held the belief that we all have gifts that are uniquely ours and that we can each develop. She displayed a belief in complete abundance in the way I had never seen before in how she supports others. She has not a competitive bone in her body. Plus – she is soooooo fair in the way she prices her B-School course and allows us complete access indefinitely (just for the record, I had subscribed to another course more than twice as expensive, poorly organized, confusing, seemed more of a sounding board for the king coach, and after it was done we were shut down unless we paid a monthly subscription fee. No thank you). She shares everything. Holds nothing back.

There are times when I'm totally in the dumps and that little voice inside tells me there's no possible way I'm going to make this work. Every time that happens now, I just shift into the Marie mindset – everything is possible. Anything is possible. Do your homework, do your research, keep putting one foot in front of the other, never give up, tackle the tough stuff – even if you don't want to. Micro steps every day with an eye on the vision you wish to create.
