Before I started B-School I was working a 9-5 corporate job. It wasn’t terrible. It paid the bills. And I enjoyed the work. But I always felt like there was something more I was supposed to do with my life. I really disliked the rules I had to follow and I felt like I was missing out on the things that were most important to me.

At the time my son was 4 and my daughter was 6 months old and I felt like I was doing them a disservice by staying in a job that wasn’t satisfying just to earn a paycheck. And I was missing out on the moments that count. And quite frankly, I felt like someone else was raising them for no good reason.

Then something happened. My husband was offered his dream job 500+ miles away in rural New Hampshire. So I was faced with a choice. Do I stay in my soul sucking corporate job climbing the ladder so I could hopefully be someone’s boss someday (totally not my style), or do we follow his dream and move our family? No brainer!

But what do I do with my 10+ years of experience and Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Adult Learning from rural New Hampshire?

To find the answer I started poking around the internet because it’s like some kind of Magic Eight Ball. And there it was, Marie Forleo’s B-School! I was immediately hooked. Total business crush. On the spot. So I enrolled. And it was by far the best decision I’ve made in my career to date.

Yes, I learned the ins and outs of building an online business. And yes, I made some wonderful lasting connections with like minded women. But most importantly, I learned that I CAN do this. I can create the business and life I want (and deserve). I can use my expertise to help others do the same. I can have it all as a woman in America. The kids, the husband, the work and even the dog. And I can do it from wherever the heck I feel like. I am in complete control of my life! And there is no greater feeling than that!

It’s taken a lot of hard work. And I have many ups and downs through the process. But once I got serious about taking action and started really following the program things started happening for me. Business started moving. I was able to establish my expertise as the “go to” for creating online courses. And people started to seek me out. What a feeling!

So, now I am sitting in our home in a beautiful lakeside community. I worked about 3 hours today and made $10,000. TODAY is my first 5 figure day! And I know there are more to come because B-School works. But more importantly today I picked my kids up from school. Helped my son with his homework. Made them their dinner. Tucked them into bed. And kissed them goodnight. And now I am getting ready to have an actual grown-up conversation with my husband. Because I am living the life I am meant to live. I have it all! And it all started with B-School.
