Archive for the Nike

Hey Ya’ll! I’ve missed posting for a bit.

The truth is I’ve been busy running my Booty Camp Coaching Program and having lots of “Booty Calls!”

LOL.

(If you don’t know what I’m talking about, this will explain: http://www.marieforleo.com/btb)

And…

I’ve been preparing for an amazing trip to Dubai! In just a few hours I’ll be on a plane to help launch NIKE Women Arabia.

I’ll be in the United Arab Emirates for the next two weeks while I train over 500 women in an awesome dance and fitness experience called the Nike Rockstar Workout.

This particular version of the workout is called Nu Soul and I, along with my partners Marc and Craig, put a lot of work into creating this one!

Needless to say, I’m going to take lots of videos and pics to share with you. But let me switch gears here for a moment.

This morning, Josh and I were having a conversation over coffee about how truly vital it is to master the lifestyle of living in the moment.

Especially given the wild ride the global economy has been on lately. Here’s the deal.

The more able you are to stay engaged in working vs. lost in worrying, the easier it is to keep the wealth flowing for you and your family.

Think about it.

Which person is more likely to prosper during uncertain times?

A person who is stressed out, overwhelmed, and panicky…

OR

A person who is confident, engaged, and committed to creating RESULTS.

No contest, right?

Just to drive the point home…

Here are three practical steps you can start using right now to help yourself and your family prosper no matter what’s going on with the economy:

1. Be A VALUE Creator.

Bottom line is that marketplace always pays for great value. The secret is to make yourself more valuable by increasing your skills, confidence and capabilities.

Be the person who kicks butt no matter what project or task you’re on.

Show up with an enthusiastic attitude and solve problems, create results and most importantly - help others succeed.

There’s a saying that goes like this: “Life gives to the giver and takes from the taker.”

Be an excellent giver of value and you’ll always be taken care of.

2. Don’t spend money on CRAP.

While I believe in the power of allowing money to flow in and out, it’s about spending your money wisely.

Don’t buy clothes you don’t really need or other chatskies that will wind up collecting dust in the back of a drawer.

My opinion? Besides the essentials (food, mortgage, utilities, etc.) the best thing to spend money is on YOU.

How? By increasing your skills and capabilities through training courses and continuing ed.

(You guys know this. I routinely spend between 25 - 45K on my own business and personal development. And it pays off BIG every-single-time!!)

After all, YOU are your most important asset in your business and your life!

You bring you to any project, business venture or personal endeavor you embark on.

Most importantly, you are the one investment that is guaranteed to go up in value!

(Note: if you want to boost your “in the moment” skills, get the Live In The Moment Booty Camp Home Study Course. It truly rocks!

Of course I’m biased towards my products, because I believe in what I do… and frankly, my stuff works. But seriously, whether it’s my programsor someone elses - keep investing in YOU.)

3. Keep having F-U-N.

Fun is SO underestimated as a tool for productivity, well-being and wealth creation.

Look. The world is doing what it’s doing-whether we like it or not.

Why not have a good time while we’re on the ride?

And the bottom line is this: Anything you have fun doing is 100X more likely to turn out successful (not to mention satisfying).

So I say, rather than bitch and moan about anything, drop that attitude and have FUN no matter what.

If nothing else, it keeps your friends and family guessing :) (i.e. “What’s she on these days??) Alrighty now. I need to finish packing and get my butt over to Newark Airport.

Have a beautiful week and look out for updates from Dubai!

Lots of love,

Marie

P.S. If you’re on Facebook, check out the most recent note I posted there. It’s a pretty amazing story from a pretty amazing lady.

Also, I just got my butt on Twitter - come follow me :)

thewpnlogo.jpgA few months ago I did an awesome Podcast on how to get in shape for your wedding (or any big event coming up!) with the fabulous Holli Ehrlich of the Wedding Podcast Network.

It’s chock full of great fitness advice and you can listen and download here.

Holli and her team are amazing and I’m so very honored to be included on their show. We also recorded an amazing Podcast on Make Every Man Want You that will be out soon as well.

Holli has great resources on her site so be sure to check them out!

On August 14th I landed in Amsterdam at 6:02AM. My NIKE Rockstar colleagues and I sleepily walked outside to get picked up by our driver.

A few minutes passed. No driver. A few more passed. Still no driver.

(Just FYI, we were in Amsterdam to teach the NIKE Rockstar Workout Africa. For me, African dance is new and I LOVE it!) While we were waiting, I looked up and saw this awesome Vodafone Ad.

Ha! Wisdom and inspiration at 6:02 AM. In that moment, I saw we had a choice. We could either stand around and waste time (and get tempted by our thoughts to complain) OR we could rehearse the Africa choreography on the sidewalk while we waited for our driver.

So what did we do? Of course, we danced :). Besides extra rehearsal time, we had fun entertaining fellow travelers and staying warm (that morning was quite chilly!). Within minutes, our fantastic driver Robert appeared to take us to our hotel.

I love the idea of making the most of now - no matter where you find yourself. To some, it may sound trite. To me, it’s a simple recipe for a fantastic experience of life.

Me with Nike Team France having a little fun during our ‘look the part’ drill.
The Nike tops we have on can be worn 8 different ways!
(Lucie, Isabelle and Anna and moi). Those French gals are smokin’~

Here’s me along the Nike European Rockstar Trainers. I had the chance to lead almost 50 instructors from 26 different countries to learn the Nike Dancehall Carribean Dance Rhythms Workout.

(Never heard of Dancehall? think of a Sean Paul, Jamaica, Reggae, Islands fusion)

Wow…what a trip! I had the privlege of leading a press event for Nike in the UK and then co-leading a 2 day “Rock Star” training with 46 instructors from 24 different countries in Amsterdam. I was away for 6 days and it was a blast!

Here’s a picture of me and Bridget McLean, Nike’s UK PR Manager. We had a fabulous dinner at the Mango Tree, a funky Thai restaurant near Victoria Station.

After London, it was off to Amsterdam. Here I am at dinner with Jane Wake, UK Fitness Guru and Dries from Medico Vision Training Facility in Amsterdam. Jane is a Nike Fitness Consultant and Dries is a former Nike Soccer Athlete.

Here I am with fellow Nike Master Trainer Marc Santa Maria. We’ve been friends for years and Marc was trying desparately to get me to take a good ‘long arm’ picture of us in front of the canals. For some strange reason, my arm only wanted to do the short-close-up version!

This is me with Craig Smith, another Nike MT and one of the most talented dancers I know. He’s danced for Beyonce and sings back-up for Faith Evans. One night after the training, we visited this nightclub called Ministry and before we knew it, Craig and I were involved in a full out dance ‘battle’ with random dancers from Europe!  I haven’t done one of those since I was 16. It was so retro and sooooooo funny! We laughed about it for the rest of the trip. Amsterdam’s dance scene will never be the same!

Today I had a chance to see and model the new Nike Fitness Dance Spring 2006 clothing line. Nike just moved their NYC offices to a beautiful loft space in Chelsea. Absolutely stunning showroom. What I especially loved, was at reception they had fresh Starbucks Coffee, an array of herbal teas and these big, beautiful white mugs from Crate & Barrel (I need to have them!).

The Spring 2006 line is awesome. Bright colors, comfortable, breathable fabrics and stylish cuts.

Here’s a picture of me and the beautiful Muriel. You’ll see us in an issue of WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) sometime next week.
